Because the end of the world is not war. It's loneliness.

Because the end of the world is not war.

As one of the many factors that causes conflicts, resources would be supposedly the first one to come, right?

- Well, think again! -

Only 25% of violent conflicts (10 out of 39 in total) has resources as one of their factors in the year 2008.

If we count all of them (violent and non-violent included), which would be 71 out of 345, the number goes even lower : 21%.

But then, you may ask,  which one really comes first? Which one is the most influential of them all? Secession? National power? Territory?

None of them! – but ideology of course! With 51% (20 out of 39) for violent conflicts, and 31% for all of them, ideology is, without doubts, the most influential. Followed by national power which have about the same amount as resources.

- But what does that means? -

Not that resources aren’t important – far from it. If you look at page 5 of the source, you’ll see how those resources are still in the third position. What it means thought, with so many others factors, is that they’re aren’t the only aspect of war we should focus on.

Talking of which, here it is ! I know, I know; don’t thank me.
